One-Dimensional Model for the Nonlinear Resistive Electric Field Control in Medium-Voltage Rotating Electrical Machines

This study provides an insight in the analytical estimation of electric field along surface a stress grading system (SGS) end-winding region electrical machine. An approach is derived for materials (FGMs) having power-law electric-field-dependent conductivity. Despite some limitations, introduced model can be used preliminary analysis SGS with specific geometric and dielectric parameters, both during sinus pulsed voltage condition. The considerations are verified finite element simulations 15 markedly different nonlinear FGMs, which were previously reported applications related to medium rotating machines.
